Earlier today Ubisoft outlined their plans for E3 next month. Amongst other things, including showing off Watch Dogs and the new Assassin’s Creed title, Ubisoft mentioned revealing unannounced titles that are specifically being developed for the next-gen hardware.
While news on their ‘unannounced next-gen exclusive’ titles is unavailable, a report from The Examiner suggests that one of the title is a racing franchise called The Crew.
It’s being developed by Ivory Tower, a French studio that includes former members of Eden Games and will be pitted against the mighty Forza and Gran Turismo franchises.
Of course to go up against those two giants your game has to be pretty lively. Though an unnamed source closed to the development team claims ‘The Crew’ to be a highly “realistic title”.
According to the report, the title is going to be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and possibly for current-gen. However, focus will be more on next-gen development.
Ubisoft was contacted to verify the rumor but as it is, a spokesperson declined, saying “Ubisoft does not comment on rumours or speculation”.
We might very well see the game’s announcement during E3 next month.
