I remember playing the original Crysis on a friend’s super-ultimate-high-end gaming PC a number of years ago and I also remember exactly how blown away I was by the gorgeous topography of that lonely island.
Crysis 2 and Crysis 3 moved away from that scene, instead adopting a cityscape (Although some serious vegetation did make its way into Crysis 3). It’s been a long time and now I’ve got some serious rose-tinted glasses for that little island.
Amidst my nostalgia, Crytek have been working on something to help bring back those memories in the form of The Lost Island DLC for Crysis 3. In this new adventure you’ll be hunting down Rebel forces hiding out in the West Pacific.
This multiplayer DLC pack will be a return to the spiritual roots of the Crysis series and will provide “fresh ways to play”, breathing new life into the game. CEO of Crytek. Cevat Yerli, explains further.
The gameplay in the Crysis series has always been deeply connected to the unique environments in which the action takes place. By transporting players out of the Liberty Dome and into the Lost Island setting, we’re not only returning to Crysis’ spiritual roots, but also introducing fresh ways to play that provide Crysis 3 fans with genuinely game-changing new tactical options, game modes and weapons.
In this new DLC, a mysterious alien presence has been discovered and there’s a race on between the Rebel forces trying to destroy it and the elite CELL team who are out to obtain it by any means they can.
