It seems that Tecmo Koei is going with tried and tested games at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, with sequels for some of their already established franchises.
First up we have Dynasty Warriors 8. The romance of the three kingdoms continues with familiar faces such as Cao Cao, Liu Bei, and Sun Quan and will introduce new characters into the story. I don’t know about you but I’m looking forward to more destruction with Lu Bu and Zhao Yun.
Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate has also been confirmed for a release date of September 3rd. It will be shown at E3 along with Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland, which will be ported to the PlayStation Vita on the same date.
The only new franchise headed to the expo from Koei is revealed to be Toukiden. A PlayStation Vita title, Toukiden follows a slayer set out to eradicate demons from a world inspired by Japanese history and folklore.
Lastly, but certainly not least, we have Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z. It’s a game that featuring ninjas and zombies.
You read that right. Ninjas. And. Zombies. The internet is over. It was fun while it lasted. Good Game everybody.
Jokes aside it really is a game about ninjas killing zombies. You play as a warrior named Yaiba, who was almost killed but brought back to life as a cyborg ninja, and is now hunting series protagonist Ryu Hayabusa. It’s planned for a release in early 2014 and will be playable at E3.
