Microsoft to Plough $1 Billion in Xbox One Exclusive Games
You think Microsoft doesn’t care about its core customers? You’re probably wrong.
Official Xbox Magazine recently reported an interview with Microsoft’s Phil Spencer & Don Mattrick according to which Microsoft will invest around $1 billion entirely on new exclusive games for their recently announced console – Xbox One.
Lately, Microsoft had to face a lot of hate and blaming from its hardcore gaming enthusiasts who have been utterly disappointed by their next-gen console called Xbox One. Well, don’t give up your hopes guys because the company is planning on releasing a large number of exclusive games, content and deals.
What he said is, “We just ran through our [release slate] and counted the number of exclusives, and looked at the amount of money that we’re spending and the deals that we have, exclusive windows and [things to create differentiation].” So that means there is still a shred of hope for Microsoft.
Mattrick also kind of complained about consumers undermining the company’s policies. To put into his words, “I think, candidly, people are way, way under-indexing how hard we’re punching.”
We did come to know that Microsoft is planning on launching 15 exclusives for Xbox One during its first year of release and 8 out of them would be new IPs.
Mattrick further added that he is currently keeping track of everything and they’ve got a huge amount of content to deliver. “There are great hits, there’s innovation, and there are world class creators plugged in. You know, I keep track of it all, and I hope everyone here does – we kind of look back at all the different years and at what we shipped, how many units have sold. There’s a lot of hyperbole about things, but I think we’re going to deliver.”
It’s all going to be revealed at E3 2013. At last we would know what Microsoft has in store for the gamers around the globe.
