Against earlier rumors that the PlayStation 4 will see to a delay in Europe, Sony has published an advert in today’s Metro which confirms the next-gen console for release later this year.
The text of the ad reads:
Now is the time. The world’s greatest players are going to entertain, create and amaze on the ultimate stage. This year a new generation will push the boundaries of play and share in moments of wonder. This year players will become legends.
The ad doesn’t mention any specific release date but it’s good to know that the console will release worldwide just before Christmas. Previously with the PS3, the console arrived in Europe a full five months after its release in Japan and United States.
The advert comes at a time when Microsoft is facing a good amount of heat following it’s Xbox One reveal earlier this week. Sony would do well capitalizing on the situation and reminding everyone that they have learned from their previous mistakes and will be following a stern quality of service.
