World Of Warcraft Patch 5.3 Goes Live on May 21st
Blizzard has confirmed Patch 5.3 for World of Warcraft to release on May 21st. The patch, dubbed ‘Escalation’ features a ton of new content and is probably what players have been waiting for some time now.
The Darkspear Trolls are rebelling against Garrosh Hellscream, resulting in unrest amongst the Horde. Players from both sides, the Alliance and Horde, will have to do their part in neutralizing this threat through the new quests.
A new battleground called Deepwind Gorge and a Tiger’s Peak arena will allow both sides to wage war and meet each other on the battlefield.
Patch 5.3 also includes heroic versions of existing scenarios. This will give veterans another challenge to complete, while four new scenarios will see to it that smaller groups are kept busy. The Brawler’s Guild from Patch 5.1 has been updated with two new tiers of bosses as well.
Unfortunately the new raid zone has been delayed to Patch 5.4.
You can go through the full patch notes on the game’s official website.
In an earnings report this year Blizzard revealed that World of Warcraft has lost around 1.3 million subscribers in the last three months. This brings the total count down to 8 million players. Though still pretty high numbers, compared to its more than 12 million population two years back, the thrill of playing WoW seems to be dissipating.
