Obsidian Entertainment, the famed Western RPG developer, has recently started a collaborative work on a new MMO called Skyforge. They’re working in partnership with the Russian developers who brought Allods Online to life.
This news comes from the Skyforge website, the announcement itself coinciding with the Russian Game Developer’s Conference. Feargus Urquhart, CEO at Obsidian, had some choice words to say:
“Skyforge is very interesting and promising project. I am glad that Obsidian Entertainment is involved in working on this game. I am confident that the cooperation with the Allods Team will be a great experience for all of us.”
“We are confident that the partnership with the legendary studio Obsidian Entertainment will add to Skyforge additional paint and make the game more enjoyable and fun.”
From what we’ve seen so far, Skyforge looks to be vibrant and fun, much like Allods Online. From the few clips we can see in the interview video above, the game looks quite interesting. Nothing groundbreaking has been revealed, but there’s certainly nothing bad either. Hopefully with a bit of polish, this could be another big MMO on the market.
