Shadow of the Eternals Kickstarter Fund Started, Needs $1.35 Million

The problems with the Kickstarter fund for Shadow of the Eternals have just been ironed out.

In case if you didn’t know, Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem (predecessor of Shadow of the Eternals) was a game developed for the Gamecube back in 2002 by Nintendo and Silicon Knights. Now Silicon Knights is in debt and a legal battle with Epic Games concerning the Unreal Engine. It had to lay off a great number of staff as a result and most of them have been acquired by Precursor Games.

The Canadian developer could previously not apply for a Kickstarter as it did not have a presence in the US or the UK as that is a requirement according to the guidelines on the site. Now they are asking for support from the community for the development of Shadow of the Eternals.

Like Eternal Darkness, Shadow of the Eternals will feature a large cast of characters all fighting against the coming of an eternal beast who threatens all of Earth. Precursor plans to release the title in 12 episodes on PC and Nintendo’s Wii U.

Oh, and not sure if this really matters, but when I started writing this article, they had 555 backers, when I finished 20 minutes later, they had 583. Here’s hoping they can get the funds they need for this game.
