During an analyst call today EA’s acting chief Larry Probst said that they have 11 major titles planned for next year, as well as 15 mobile games.
Starting with the core titles, they include Battlefield 4, The Sims 4, the yearly iterations of EA Sports titles like Need for Speed, FIFA, NBA and the like.
Frank Gibeau, executive vice president of the firm listed those 11 major titles to be:
- Battlefield 4
- Command and Conquer
- FIFA Manager
- NBA Live
- NCAA Football
- Need for Speed
- The Sims 4
As far as the mobile games are concerned, Gibeau only spoke of a Command and Conquer title and an Ultima role-playing game.
It was surprising however to see no mention of a Star Wars games. LucasFilm earlier signed off rights to Star Wars games over to EA and Battlefield 4 developer DICE. The decision followed the shutting down of long-time developer LucasArts by Disney, shortly after they acquired the studio last year.
Perhaps EA is saving a Star Wars announcement for their presence at E3 this year?
Probst added that EA is investing in games for the PlayStation 4 and the to-be announced new Xbox, and that they will try to win over consumers with “world-class entertainment experiences.”
