Delsin Rowe Smokes the DUP in Infamous: Second Son
The June 2013 cover for Game informer has been revealed, and it’s full of new information about Infamous: Second Son. Keep in mind that the following information is spoiler heavy, so if you’ve got plans of playing Infamous 2, then I suggest you stop reading.
Infamous: Second Son takes place seven years after the end of Infamous 2. Developer Sucker Punch took a lot of information from the trophies earned by players of Infamous 2 and learned that most players preferred Cole MacGrath as a hero. Therefore, in this game, the good ending from Infamous 2 will be taken as canon; MacGrath is dead.
Because of Cole’s actions, the number of Conduits (people with special powers such as Cole) in America was drastically reduced. What few are left are known as Bioterrorists and the majority of people think of all Conduits (including Cole) as bad guys. The Department of Unified Protection (DUP) was formed as a result, to attempt to control the remaining Conduit population.
The protagonist of Second Son is a 24 year old man of Native American descent called Delsin Rowe. While being transported by the DUP along with other Conduits, he was involved in an accident which awoke his powers. Apparently he was the only survivor of the crash. Delsin’s powers seem to revolve around the manipulation of smoke and ash, instead of the lightning that Cole MacGrath was (in)famous for.
The last bit of information we have for you is that the game will be taking place in Seattle, that Delsin will use a short chain as a weapon, similar to how Cole used his Amp and the game will feature the same kind of choice system that the previous two game included.
The release date for Infamous: Second Son is still unknown, but we do know that it is a launch title for the Sony Playstation 4.
