Wolfenstein: The New Order Announced, Trailer Included
Bethesda’s mystery game has been confirmed to be Wolfenstein: The New Order and will release later this year for both current and next-gen consoles.
The game takes us back to 1960 where the Nazis have won World War II and have taken over the world. American war hero B.J Blazkowicz is now tasked with conducting an “impossible counter-offensive” against the Nazi horde by infiltrating their strongholds, taking control of their “super weapons” and wiping them all from the face of the earth.
The game is being developed by MachineGames, which was acquired by Bethesda’s parent company ZeniMax back in 2010. The studio’s founders are known for Chronicles of Riddick but little is known after their studios’ acquisition.
“We are excited to bring a new chapter of Wolfenstein to gamers everywhere,” said Jens Matthies, creative director at MachineGames. “As fans of the series, working on this game is an honor, and our team is driven to create an unforgettable action-adventure experience that will make FPS fans proud.”
Wolfenstein: The New Order will release just in time for the holidays for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC and next-gen consoles.
