Splinter Cell: Blacklist is edging ever nearer to its release date. As we get closer to the release date, Ubisoft keeps teasing us with new trailers increasing the hype surrounding the game even more.
The latest trailer released focuses on the multiplayer aspects of the game. More specifically, the traditional Spies vs. Mercs multiplayer mode. No doubt, most Splinter Cell veterans will be familiar with this mode. However, for those of you who are not familiar with it let me break it down for you.
In the ‘Spies vs. Mercs’ mode the players will be divided into two teams. Spies will have the objective of ‘Hack data.’ Spies will rely on their stealth and agility to bypass the Mercs or dispose of them one by one and then hack the data.
Spies will have the ability to perform on hit stealth kills and they will be deadly in the shadows wearing their green three-eyed night goggles. Furthermore, they seem to have borrowed Harry’s cloak of invisibility.
Mercs, on the other hand are quite a different story. They are the complete opposites of Spies and have the responsibility of protecting the data. They are heavily armored soldiers who are like Conan the Barbarian. If they get a Spy in their hands they will crust their heads like a water melon. Besides that, they also have fancy gadgets like exploding drones and motion trackers at their disposal.
Splinter Cell: Blacklist comes out this August 20th on the Xbox 360, PlayStation3 and PC.
