I don’t know much about ice hockey. However, even I know that things get to be a lot physical on the ice rink.
Keeping this mind the developers have released a dev diary detailing the collisions system implied in the game. Behind this new collision system will be the impact engine constructed for the Fifa series.
We all know the Impact engine was a tremendous success when it was first introduced in the Fifa series. The developers are now hoping to replicate the same success in NHL 14.
All the collisions in the game thanks to the new system will be ultra-realistic.
For example, the player who will be the aggressor will also prepare himself beforehand before smashing into another guy. The contact made will lead to the proper results. It won’t be like before when a gentle shove made a player go across the ice as a rag doll or when a hard hit felt like a fleeting kiss.
NHL 13 was a great success; let’s hope the developers bring something new to the table instead of resting on their laurels from the last game. If this dev diary is any indication, then we don’t have anything to worry about.
NHL 14 comes out September 10th, 2013 for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
