A plan is being formulated by Nintendo to save the sinking ship that is Wii U.
According to CVG, the firm plans to release an all-new 3D Mario title for their latest console by October this year.
The same title was previously announced by Nintendo president Satoru Iwata during a Nintendo Direct Broadcast in January of this year. However, news of it went scarce pretty quick.
3D Mario for the Wii U is being developed by Nintendo EAD Tokyo, the team behind Mario Galaxy, Mario Galaxy 2 and Super Mario 3D Land. It’s safe to say that the game is in good hands.
It has also been confirmed that the title will be playable at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in June.
3D Mario is just one of many titles planned by Nintendo to revive Wii U’s sales. Other games included in the loop are Pikmin 3, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, and The Wonderful 101; all of which will be released later this year.
Alongside that a new Mario Kart, Zelda and Smash Bros. game is in the works as well.
Do you think this new line up of titles will bring life back to the Wii U?
