How hard is it to announce the platforms for your game, which releases in less than five months? Apparently, it’s a difficult task as far as EA is concerned with the new FIFA 14.
Earlier EA provided us with a ‘Fall 2013’ release date for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, while at the end teasing us by saying, “additional platforms will be revealed in the months ahead.”
Now online retailer Amazon has revealed a more ‘specific’ release date for the title, as well as another confirmed platform. According to the new listing, FIFA 14 will release on September 24th in North America and September 27th in Europe. The fourth confirmed platform is the PlayStation Vita.
The inclusion of Vita is not surprising since the current FIFA 13 also was released on Sony’s hand-held. However, whatever happened to the next-gen consoles? The PlayStation 4 has already been revealed by Sony so why is it taking EA this long to confirm FIFA 14’s availability on the new hardware?
