If a new listing is to be believed then Infinity Ward are finally done with their Modern Warfare series and have moved on to a new Call of Duty title called ‘Ghosts’.
The posting was published mistakenly by Tesco earlier and is now removed. Thankfully a screenshot was captured before the removal and you can see that below.
The listing states the PS3 version of the game to release in December this year and lists Infinity Ward as the developer. There is no mention of next-gen consoles but it’s highly unlikely of Infinity Ward to skip out on a major platform. Their new Call of Duty title for 2013 will definitely make its way to the new consoles, thus giving the PC version much love.
Tesco wasn’t the only one to join the bandwagon. US retailer Target also posted an advert which suggests players will be able to pre-order the new ‘Ghosts’ title next month. The listing though states a release date of November 5, compared to Tesco’s December release.
Infinity Ward is speculated to reveal the title for the first time early next month. However, Activision’s social media manager Dan Amrich said earlier this month that he expects this year’s Call of Duty title to be revealed no later than E3 in early June.
Call of Duty: Ghosts is said to be set in the future. The game will include new options for player movements, including run-and-slides while shooting, rolling side-to-side while in prone positions, peeking around corners, and more.
Multiplayer loading screens are said to be replaced with interactive ones and that is something I’m really looking forward to. Having my player rappel down a chopper to enter the multiplayer battlegrounds is way better than looking at a loading screen.
Activision is giving us the silent treatment for now and is refusing to comment on the product listing.
