Sega’s late February reveal portrayed the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest in a short trailer, emphasizing the ancient history the developers are putting together in the game.
Today, the publisher has released another trailer for the Teutoburg Forest mission, this one spanning up to 11 minutes long and containing actual gameplay which also is narrated by Creative Assembly.
Note that the video contains pre-alpha gameplay and the final version will and should be better polished.
The Battle of the Teutoburg Forest is inspired by actual real-life historic events, where three Roman legions were ambushed and slaughtered by Germanic tribes. The history goes that Arminius, a soldier raised in Rome, betrayed the Roman general Varus by mobilizing Germanic tribes in an ambush against the imperial army at the site of Teutoburg Forest.
Total War: Rome 2 will be released for PC later this year.
