Ratchet and Clank’s Captain Qwark Teases a Movie to be Released in 2015

By   /   Apr 24, 2013

“Never mess with the animators.” A teaser for the Ratchet and Clank movie features Captain Qwark blowing off steam at the low budget for his production while everyone else is off filming the Ratchet and Clank movie. The teaser makes a point to highlight the animators, with Captain Qwark calling them out to the point they take away his animated, ummm, decency.

The Ratchet and Clank film isn’t coming out anytime soon, however, (it’s currently locked in for a 2015 release) so its comforting to know they are already taking a creative approach to advertise the film, which has drawn (no pun intended) comparisons to animated flicks, specifically Pixar, for some time. Pixar isn’t the studio heading up the Ratchet and Clank film, though, as it’s being developed by Rainmaker and Blockade.

It’ll be great to see just how well the colorful and light hearted stories of the Ratchet and Clank franchise translate to the silver screen. From the teaser, there’s sure to be a lot of the signature humor from the series creeping into the movie.

Whether or not we’ll see some more Ratchet and Clanks games coming through the pipeline before the movie hits isn’t known yet. Insomniac Games is readying its release of Fuse in May, but there’s the looming release of the PlayStation 4 and two full years until the movie comes out, so the possibility is very likely.

We’ll keep our ears open for any news regarding Ratchet and Clank. Are you excited about the movie?
