Sony has revealed the box art for Beyond: Two Souls, featuring the game’s lead Jodie Holmes (Ellen Page) in front and center.
While many would expect a game containing a supernatural aspect to have a more ‘interesting’ box art, Sony wanted to convey the emotional side of Jodie, as she tries to understand her connection with Aiden, a powerful supernatural being.
Sony’s Associate Product Marketing Manager, Derek Osgood feels the box art to be “sophisticated, mature, and different from most traditional game packaging, and it really captures the emotion Ellen Page conveyed in her performance as Jodie.”
Developer Quantic Dream’s has claimed the game to play more like a movie than a traditional game. Players will connect with the little girl, as she journeys through with Aiden, trying to discover his true purpose and avoiding pursuit from various government officials at the same time.
Their Heavy Rain title offered something similar, but Beyond: Two Souls is expected to take the storytelling to a whole new level.
Beyond: Two Souls releases exclusively for the PS3 on October 8, 2013.
