Multiple Wii online services ranging from multimedia, entertainment and communication will be shut down on June 28, Nintendo announced today.
Those services include the Nintendo Channel, News Channel, Forecast Channel, Everybody Votes Channel and Mii Contest Channel. Additionally data exchange with Wii friends will also be disabled in some games.
“We at Nintendo sincerely thank you for your continued patronage of our company’s products. We apologise to those of you currently using these services,” reads a statement from Nintendo.
Nintendo confirmed though that they would still continue with the Wii Shop Channel and ‘Today’s Accomplishments’ on the Wii Message Board.
