Following Disney’s announcement yesterday of shutting down LucasArts, a LucasFilm representative has confirmed that production on both Star Wars 1313 and Star Wars: First Assault have been ceased.
Miles Perkins, spokesperson for LucasFilm said to BBC, “Both current Star Wars games projects have been halted.”
So can the games be still released through an outside party? A LucasArts representative previously told GameInformer that yes, possibility of a release via external licensing is there. However, a Kotaku source said that chances of that happening are “effectively zero.”
Prior to the closure of the studio, Star Wars 1313 was said to be available on the PS3 later this year; and rumors pointed towards Star Wars: First Assault to be released on the XBLA as a multiplayer shooter.
