War Z: Database Hacked, Player Information Compromised

Security and personal details of War Z players were compromised earlier today when the game’s database was hacked. As a result, the game was taken down soon after and an investigation of the security breach was initiated.

According to publisher OP Production, all affected players have been emailed and been asked to change their security passwords, in case they were using the same ones for War Z as well. The compromised data included the players’ email address and passwords for the forum and game, IP address and in-game character names. However, their payment information is still secure. This is because all War Z payments are made through a third party and are not connected to OP’s system.

“This has been a humbling experience for us. While we all know that there is no guaranty of security on the Internet, our goal is to try our very best to protect your data. We sincerely apologize,” said a statement.
