Popcap games gave us a couple big announcements today that ensured we’ll have plenty of our favorite flora on walker action in the future. The first announcement being that the highly anticipated sequel to Plants Vs. Zombies is going to be released early this coming summer but there’s still no concrete release date, unfortunately.
The second announcement comes in the form of a new PvZ game called Plants Vs. Zombies Adventure. Described as a “highly accessible, zombie-zapping adaptation of the original game designed specifically for Facebook”, the game “will take players beyond the confines of the backyard”, sending them on a series of road-trips, fighting zombies as they travel to different locations. “Players will also be able to send hordes of zombies to their Facebook friends.”
Yes, you read that correctly; Plants Vs. Zombies is becoming a Facebook game as well. I’ll wait here while you finish rolling your eyes.
The Facebook version of the game is set to include new zombie and plant types, new ways of obtaining, cultivating and deploying plant defenses, and the ever popular leaderboards. PvZ Adventures entered into closed beta today with select Facebook users chosen to participate, and a wider launch is planned for this spring.
So what do you guys think of these announcements? Will you be inundating your Facebook friends with zombie messages in the future?
