Players have been able to discover and access a playable version of the Warzone game-mode in Gears of War: Judgment. The multiplayer mode was present in all parts of the trilogy but was eventually left out of Judgment.
There are many methods of accessing the mode, the most common one is the following:
Start up the game, choose Private Match and highlight Team Death Match, and press A. At the next prompt press the A and B buttons simultaneously. When it says “You are about to start a match. Continue?”, press A again.
The question left behind was whether Epic Games intended this to be a paid DLC later. Upon questioning, a representative clarified that the mode was probably left behind when the team ported over some Gears of War code.
“Thanks for the heads up, was easier to leave Warzone refs than rip out,” said senior multiplayer programmer Peter Knepley in response to a fan on Twitter.
Alongside the multiplayer mode, players also discovered a number of extra maps, though they are unplayable at the moment. The additional maps are Mausoleum Hospital, Museum, Capitol and Haven.
