A couple of weeks ago we reported on the announcement of a new Warhammer 40,000 strategy game being developed by Slitherine games in partnership with Games Workshop. Well, I’m here to inform you of a second title in the works, this one being developed by the studio that brought you Mechwarrior, Roadhouse.
Roadhouse Interactive is apparently working on a side-scrolling action game set in the universe of ridiculously oversized power armor. They’ve previously developed the MechWarrior: Tactics turn-based strategy free-to-play game as well as producing a collectible card game called Elemental Power due out soon for GameStop’s Flash-game portal Kongregate.
According to Games Workshop’s head of licesnsing Jon Gillard:
The work we have seen to-date from Roadhouse makes us extremely confident that this new mobile title will be a fantastic addition to the range of digital games we are building. We are extremely pleased that Tarrnie and the guys at Roadhouse Interactive, who are both veteran developers and very familiar with our IP, are going to help expand the Warhammer 40,000 universe into the hands of mobile gamers with this unique take on it.
I don’t know about you guys, but the last time I enjoyed a W40k game was back when Dawn of War: Dark Crusade came out (Although Dawn of War 2 was no slouch). We have little information about the new game at this point however, so let’s just keep our fingers crossed.
