The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim has been one of the biggest games, in recent memory, to be such a time sink for so many people. Thousands of players have poured hundreds of hours into the game to make themselves the most powerful Dovahkiin they can be while completing every NPC task asked of them. Now Bethesda has given these players a chance to be truly legendary.
In the new 1.9 update being released for PC/Steam today will add a new and harder difficulty titled “Legendary Mode.” This mode will allow you to reset your maxed out skills to zero, while still keeping those hard-earned stat boosts; think of it like a hardcore version of a “New Game Plus” mode in other games. From the looks of things, you’ll need these new “Legendary Skills”, as all the enemies have boosted health and armor, better tactics and will really test your skill as the Dragonborn of Legend.
On top of this addition, you’ll get your usual update bug fixes that increase stability and improve gameplay. You can find the full list over on the Bethesda Blog if you’re into that sort of thing.
There’s no word, yet, on when this update is going to hit consoles so I wouldn’t hold your breath on that one PS3 users.
