Fez gets confirmed to be coming to Steam, as well as a Mac port and a possible PSN port shortly thereafter.
Phil Fish, the outspoken developer behind Xbox Live phenonemon, Fez has confirmed that the popular title will soon be making its way to a variety of other platforms. He made the announcement today in a Reddit AMA, citing that the Steam release would be in early May with a Mac port not too far behind it.
When queried about other versions he quickly vetoed the idea of a 3DS port but mentioned that there would probably be a PSN port as well.
People keep assuming Fez would be a no-brainer on 3DS, but in truth it would be kind of pointless. The game is practically always shown in isometric 3D, there’s never any perspective there. I don’t think it would work.
And as for the talk of a PSN port:
We’re working on that with Sony. Can’t say more than that right now.
All being well, a much wider market can look forward to Fez in the near future. With the PC and Mac versions now confirmed, and a very hopeful PSN version as well, there won’t be many markets without access to this indie gem.
