Several people have reported to have experienced difficulty connecting to PSN on March 15. While trying to connect to the US PlayStation Network and PlayStation Store, many people encountered error code 80710092 as well as 80710016.
Error 80710092 is described by Sony as a connection issue where “PSN, or a portion of PSN (PlayStation Store, chat, etc.) may be down.” and error 80710016 is called a network error concerning issues with proxy server.
Sony also acknowledged the issue on their official Twitter account and tweeted the following:
“We’re aware that some of you are having difficulty connecting to PSN. We’re looking into it, stay tuned for updates.”
As of now, the issue seems to have been resolved. Sony has also concurred by tweeting “PSN issues are resolving now – thanks for your patience!” however the nature of the issues that caused the PSN connection problems has not yet been revealed.
