Assassin’s Creed: Rising Phoenix had made quite a name for itself a few days ago when it mysteriously appeared on the Internet with nothing to really give players any insight as to what it was. It was basically an image that showed two hooded figures bearing the “Abstergo” logo standing outside a door.
While everyone who has played an Assassins Creed game should be well familiar with the Abstergo corporation and their activities, the intentions of the two employees in the picture will remain a mystery.
A twist has been added to this mystery, it appears that a Spanish retailer, Xtralife, listed the game as a PlayStation Vita title with a scheduled release date of October 10th 2013, which is quite the coincidence considering Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag is releasing on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 29th 2013.
Could this be another tie-in game like Assassins Creed: Liberation on the PlayStation Vita last year?
It does seem that Sony and Ubisoft have formed a loving relationship since Assassins Creed 3 offered 60 minutes of extra gameplay content, a PlayStation Vita tie-in title that again offers bonuses for cross platform players, and they did it again with Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag by announcing exclusive 60 minutes of extra gameplay content for those who buy the game on Playstation 3.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this game did turn out to be a Vita tie-in title after all. For now, let’s wait for some official news.
