SimCity’s problem with pathfinding of the streetcar system is soon going to be fixed, according to a recent post by the game’s lead gameplay scripter.
Guillaume Pierre wrote on the game’s official blog that many players have reported problems with traffic ‘clumping’ and vehicles taking longer amounts of time in reaching their destinations. As a result players have to wait longer to complete certain tasks. Frequent traffic congestion are also caused by vehicles following the same path.
According to the developer, Maxis is working on a fix by programming “high-priority pick-up” locations. This will cause transit vehicles to head to those stops first, reducing traffic and improving the ‘clumping’ issues caused by current public transit vehicles.
A release date for the fix was not mentioned.
