Well, this is weird – Crysis 3 is seeing its price cut across multiple distribution platforms. First, it was at EA’s own digital distribution program, Origin, where the game went from $59.99 to $41.99. Amazon then soon followed with its own-price drop, bringing the game down to $39.99. What makes this so interesting, is the fact that Crysis 3 was just released in the middle of February, this year.
Could this price drop indicate that Crysis 3 didn’t meet its quota, and this is a last ditch effort to get there? Alternatively, this may just be a potential genius strategy plan, to make Crysis 3 seem more appealing, in the wake of this huge tidal wave of amazing games that are coming out this month. Although, the simpler answer just might be that digital distribution straight from the source, simply sees more profits, thus allowing for price cuts, for an increased in sales, without seeing a decrease in over all money made.
Whatever the case may be; we shall simply have to wait and see how this plays out.
