The upcoming Tomb Raider film set to reboot the franchise will follow the happenings of the latest game in the series.
Speaking to Variety, Crystal Dynamics head Darrell Gallagher said that his team is working closely with the move producers and will ensure that Lara Croft returns to the big screen in all of her glory.
They are working from this new take that we’ve given them. It’s a good partnership. We’re seeing the challenges through the same lens.
It was important for both of us to have a cohesive version of the franchise. We didn’t want to see a film version that was a continuation of the old Tomb Raider films.
The new movie is being produced by GK Films who acquired the rights to the name back in 2011. The writing team consist of names who previously have been behind Iron Man, Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby.
The new Tomb Raider game by Crystal Dynamics introduces a young and inexperienced Lara Croft, who with time learns surviving the elements and more. The game got favorable reviews and looks to be the best one yet in the series.
