A new trailer has been released by BioWare for Mass Effect 3: Citadel, the final expansion to the iconic sci-fi series.

Citadel is due for release tomorrow in the US on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, while European PS3 players can get their hands on the expansion a day later on Wednesday.

In the last expansion players take on one final mission as Commander Shepard, who happens to be on shore leave. In all Citadel also acts as a farewell party by bringing back a huge cast of players from the first and second Mass Effect games, including Wrex, jack, Zaeed, Samara and Kolyat. Miranda gets a new sexier outfit and there is a great deal of fan service as well.

Shepard has a new quarter to call home where players can once again invite potential loved ones. BioWare has also included a new area to explore, as well as a new set of mini-games which you can play with the returning members.

Chase Boyajian, BioWare’s artist tweeted earlier regarding the said farewell expansion:

Final Mass Effect trailer handed off… A lot more emotional than I thought. I recommend playing through the DLC to get to the scene where the last song of the trailer is played. Tear jerker.
