When Sega released Sonic Jump last October, it turned out to be a pretty good mobile Sonic game and a pretty good Sonic game, period. What a lot of fans couldn’t help but ask, though, was why a character that has always been known for running, not in an endless-running mobile game?
With the popularity of games like Temple Run for example, you would think that this line of thought would have been common sense. Well, it seems like Sega is finally getting with the program and Kotaku has noticed that Sega has put up a job listing for their UK studio Hardlight, the same developer who worked on Sonic Jump, and it mentions working on a game called Sonic Dash.
Sega soon released a statement confirming that it was, indeed, a mobile game but that was about all the information we got:
At this time, Sega is able to confirm that we are working on a new mobile game titled Sonic Dash. We have not announced any specific details on the product but we will be releasing additional information on this exciting, new game in the near future.
Think of a game like Rayman Jungle Run with a Sonic the Hedehog theme and I think you’ve got yourself a winner, so we’ll just have to wait and see what this new Sonic Dash game turns out to be. What do you guys think it will be?
