A few days ago we reported on an exciting new feature of Watch Dogs; Hyper connectivity. If you missed it, you can check it out here but the basic down low is that as you’re playing your story, other players can drop into your game and either assist or hinder you at any time.
Sebastien Viard, who is the technical director on Watch Dogs and has contributed to Far Cry 2 and 3, recently tweeted something about the Hack-em-up game that you might find interesting:
Watch Dogs uses a brand new engine called Disrupt, developed specifically for the game at Ubisoft Montreal. It’s not Assassin’s Creed engine.
If you’re speaking in the name of progress I suppose the fact is good news. And considering that the AC engine has been around for quite some time and will look a bit dated next to all the next-gen games shuffling up to the block it’s easy to understand the decision.
Watch Dogs will release towards the end of the year – probably November.
