Age of Conan: Unchained Now Free-To-Play on Steam

Valve announced today that Age of Conan: Unchained is going free-to-play for all Windows PC Steam users. Those who download the Steam version will be entitled to receive a special in-game cape.

As the name suggests, the game is set in the world of Conan the Barbarian himself. Players have the option of choosing between 12 different classes and then adventuring through the plains of Hyboria.

The massively multiplayer online game was released back in 2008 and carried a fixed subscription rate. Two years later reports followed that the title was struggling to reach out to a higher player base, as well as reducing the bounce rate of one-time players.

Currently Steam is offering a discount on Age of Conan: Unchained’s downloadable content. The Tortage Survival Pack is now available for purchase, for a limited time, at a price of $6.49, 35% off its regular $9.99 price.

The Tortage Survival pack adds a set of beginner weapons, as well as the Totem of Origins, Bag of Holding, Enruned Kosalan Ring and more.
