Eventcore, who was, until recently, known as U.S. Techs, registered XboxEvent.com.
Eventcore, as the name implies, is an event management company. It’s worth noting that this is the very same company that has been responsible for previous domains related to Xbox, as well as the 2013 Microsoft Hosting Summit.
“Microsoft often acquires various domain names as part of its ongoing business strategy, but beyond that we have no comment,” said a Microsoft representative to GameSpot.
While one might simply speculate that Microsoft was grabbing the name before they got URL jacked, it seems safer to assume this is more indicative of an approaching Xbox conference, given the multiple reports confirming an April media event.
This seems more than likely, given that Sony just held their PlayStation 4 event this very week. Indeed, the world is expecting a response from Microsoft. Anticipation for what Microsoft will show off in their press event is palpable; the sooner they respond, the better.
