Sony’s exclusive first-person shooter Killzone franchise continues with the latest entry of Killzone: Shadow Fall for the PlayStation 4. The game was announced by none other than Guerrilla Games during the PlayStation Meeting yesterday.
Shadow Fall takes place 30 years after the events of Killzone 3. Both factions, the Helghast and Vektans are now living alongside each other in a futuristic city divided by a wall. Even then, tensions are running high and the smallest of sparks could very well ignite a war. The new installment will also feature a new protagonist.
Steven ter Heide, the senior producer of the game writes on the PlayStation Blog:
Tensions are high, and the cold war they are embroiled in is about to go hot. In the midst of this all stands a Shadow Marshal, you. The most special of the special forces, tasked with maintaining the delicate balance.
From responding to bold attacks, to quiet infiltrations or all out combat, you will be required to adapt and think on your feet as you have to face a variety of escalating events that could destroy your home world.
Guerrilla showed off a live gameplay demo of the game during their presentation titled “Attack on Vekta City” which looked pretty damn impressive.
The original Killzone was released in 2004 for the PlayStation 2, followed by Killzone 2 and Killzone 3 for the PlayStation 3 in 2009 and 2011, respectively.
