DualShock 4 Confirmed To Have PS Move Functionality
See that blue strip on the new DualShock 4 controller? It’s going to do a couple more things than we expected.
During a roundtable discussion earlier today, Shuhei Yoshida from Sony confirmed some new features for the PS4’s DualShock controller. A few people did question the functionality of the bright blue bar on the pad itself, with Yoshida was happy to reveal the details of.
It’s an extension of the PS Move technology that we incorporated into the DualShock 4 so that the camera can see where it is.
The multicolored bar will function as an extension to the Move then, which is good as it appears that the PS Move will be getting a lot of love when the PS4 is released. According to the press conference last night, the color of the bar will also change depending on which player you are, to help differentiate between players 1, 2, 3 and 4 for at-home gaming.
