We’re going to be seeing the release of StarCraft Universe soon. The creator of the mod has now launched a prologue of the game which helps introduce players to its single-player gameplay.
StarCraft Universe is a massively multiplayer online mod for StarCraft 2 that has been in development for over two years now. The game requires a copy of StarCraft 2 to run and offers eight different classes, as well as MMO styled character customization.
The mod is set 11 years after the events of Wings of Liberty. According to the video’s description, StarCraft Universe is a “vision of how the universe may have been for any survivors of the hybrid onslaught which ensued, had Kerrigan died.”
The mod was created for raid battle fans who would love to experience World of Warcraft in a StarCraft setting. In due time the creators plan to include up to five players in a single instance, as well as new monsters, bosses, characters and more. For now, however, the team will continue to release content slowly.
StarCraft Universe will be released through Battle.net as a series of custom maps.
