Spider-Man Web-Swings His Way Onto the WiiU
In case you missed Spidey’s newest adventure based on the new movie franchise, you’ll be able to grab the The Amazing Spider-Man Ultimate Edition for the Wii early next month.
Activision and Marvel Entertainment announced today that the game will arrive for Wii U on March 5 in North America, followed by a March 8 launch in Europe.
The Wii U version of The Amazing Spider-Man will be available for $40 and include all four of the DLC packs on-disc. These are the Stan Lee Adventure Pack, the Lizard Rampage Pack, the Rhino Challenge, and the Oscorp Search and Destroy Pack.
What’s really neat is that The Amazing Spider-Man for Wii U uses the GamePad as an “Oscorp OsPhone,” allowing players to access Spider-Man’s in-game cell phone to accept new challenges, navigate the city, and manage upgrades. The game also supports that sweet off-screen play that we all love.
If you’re not familiar with the plot of the game, it’s an epilogue, of sorts, to the movie and has you taking on the role of Spider-Man as he web-swings around Manhattan, taking down criminals and fighting super-villians. Oh, the story is also written by Seamus Kevin Fahey, who you may know as a writer for that little sci-fi show Battlestar Galactica.
As gamers, we don’t usually get a second chance, and a good deal, on a game like this so check it out and let us know what you think of it on the WiiU!
