Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time Sly Masks Locations Guide
Finally, the fourth part of the amazing Sly Cooper series has been released, this time hurling our infamous friends through time for adventures with Sly’s ancestors.
This particular Sly Cooper game, just like the others, features numerous collectibles such as booby-trapped treasures and clue bottles that you need to search high and low to find. However, the hardest collectible of them all are the Secret Sly Masks.
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time Sly Masks are difficult to find, and can be located anywhere, during missions or the hub world, so we’ve compiled a guide to give you an easier time of finding them.
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time Sly Masks
There are 60 Secret Sly Masks, and every five masks you find will net you a new reward:
- 5 Masks: Monkey Paraglider Skin
- 10 Masks: Camo Paraglider Skin
- 15 Masks: Ultimate Sly Skin
- 20 Masks: Ultimate Bentley Skin
- 30 Masks: Ultimate Murray Skin
- 40 Masks: Ultimate Carmelita Skin
- 50 Masks: Ratchet’s Wrench
- 60 Masks: Cole’s Amp
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time – Prologue: Paris
Location. You’ll find this mask on top of the roof, behind a glowing yellow/orange structure during Sly’s section of the mission.
Location. During Bentley’s section in the sewers, when exiting the second tunnel but before jumping across the water, enter the dead end tunnel to the left. There is a mask hidden to the left of the platform behind some boxes.
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time – Turning Japanese
Location. Go to the north of the hub world map and look on the side of the road near a cliff to find a shuriken. Stand on it and use Riochi’s Dragon Leap technique to jump to the platform across the gap to find this mask.
Location. Go to the western part of the hub world map to find another shuriken next to a sheer drop. Across the gap you should see another platform (this time with a golden rhino statue on it) that you can Dragon Leap to. Do so to find this mask.
Location. Make your way half-way to the hallway where you meet Rioichi, and look to the left to see the Mask in a cell. Right after you talk to Riochi you will come to a wall you must crawl under. In the left corner is another spot you can crawl through right past the guards – it leads to the mask in cell.
Location. After you pass the second set of fire-breathing dragon statues, you’ll come to a lantern guard having a nap. Opposite him, across a gap, there should be a platform you can leap to. Do so and go through a crawlspace there to access the cell.
Sushi House Startup
Location. In the first room, Rioichi Dragon Leaps to a platform where he then sneaks on a ledge to a guard. Don’t follow him. Instead, use the Leaping Dragon to get to a platform across the room near the entrance. There is a mask here.
Location. At the end of the mission, before turning on the boiler in the boiler room, climb up the nearby pole to find a Mask.
Pretty in Pinker
Location. Play through this level as normal until you reach the spinning fans with the rats patrolling below. You’ll see a platform on the corner of the room just above the rats with a box/chest on it. Break it open to obtain another mask.
Something’s Fish/Spiked Sushi
Location. Just as you enter the fish caverns, turn around just as you enter and there will be a mask near the door.
Location. Progress through this level as normal until you enter the dragon gate. Immediately after the cut scene, look right to find this mask on a ledge.
Location. When you’re pursuing El Jefe across a burning bridge, look into an alcove to the left right after you cross it. (Left of the steps).
Location. If you’ve collected all of the treasures on the level, you’ll find that the arcade machine at the hideout is fixed. Boot it up to play Alter Ego, a side-scrolling minigame. At the end of the first zone, you’ll have a choice to go right to enter a portal or further down into the zone. Enter the portal to reach a zone full of purple globs and the last Secret Sly Mask.
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time – Go West Young Raccoon
Location. This mask is in the area behind the saloon. Follow the train tracks south to see it.
Location. Take the train to the northern part of the route to find a high ledge that is accessible only by jumping from the train. Once you’ve reached it, use the Jailbird costume’s ball and chain to knock the crate back. Not climb it to find a Sly Mask on another ledge.
Location. When you get to the part where Tennessee is carrying some TNT. In this are, look for an outhouse. Inside is a crate containing a Mask.
Location. After you pass the first laser floor, you’ll arrive at a large area with a block-pushing puzzle. Just as you enter the area, go left to find a mask in an alley behind some breakable barrels.
Cooper for Hire
Location. Eventually, you will play as Tennessee. Just after the first rail sliding section, you will see a mask on an upper ledge. Clear the enemies from the room, and climb up the boxes to reach the mask.
Location. Almost at the end of the mission, you’ll spot a multi-targeted crate just before the final rail. Use Tennessee’s Crackshot ability to shoot every target at once, destroying the crate and revealing another mask.
Location. Once you’re at the casino area as Sly, you can see a mask on top of the rotating wagon in the center of the room. Use the cane launch ability to climb up to it.
Location. Proceed until the second gate Tennessee must lower in this level. However, before you take the zip line back to the boat, climb down the nearby rope to find a mask below.
Operation: Gold Digger
Location. Once you’re playing as Tennessee, you’ll enter a train car filled with lasers. As you proceed, you’ll reveal a mask behind a destructible crate. After deactivating the lasers, backtrack a few steps to grab it.
Location. There is another mask in the next train cart. Deactivate the lasers again and backtrack to grab it.
Location. If you’ve collected all of the treasures on the level, you’ll find that the arcade machine at the hideout is fixed. Boot it up to play System Cracker. In the second arena, grab the purple panzer power-up and head to the right. Use the cannon to blow the wall away, revealing a hidden area containing a mask.
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time – Clan of the Cave Raccoon
Location. Right behind the hideout there is a large nest on top of a tree that you can jump to. There is a mask in this nest.
Location. Head to the south end of the map and get atop the large teetering rock. Look further south to spot this mask out on the nose of a large totem head. It’s a pretty risky move but the only way to get to it is to jump out into the abyss and hope you can paraglide to it instead of falling.
Location. Go to the river now and jump onto one of the ice chunks that flow along it. Ride it beneath the southernmost bridge to find a mask underneath.
Location. On the western side of the same bridge (where you found the previous mask) is an ice wall Bob can climb. Clamber across to find another mask.
Mask #29 – Head towards the ice sculpture of The Grizz on the western portion of the map. South of it is another ice wall Bob can climb. You’ll find a mask at the top.
Mask #30 – Progress with this mission until you reach the Sabertooth costume draped over The Grizz’s bed. You’ll find a mask behind the bed itself.
Mask #31 – Progress with this mission until you climb past the first pair of falling eggs. Go right when given the option in order to find a mask along the ice wall.
Ice Ice Bentley
Location. In this mission you’ll move through some ice tunnels where eggs will roll. In the second tunnel, there will be a cracked wall across from the tunnel exit. Blow the wall with a bomb to reveal a mask.
Operation: Jurassic Thievery
Location. Play this mission normally until you release the second pressure valve as Bob. Drop down past all the flames to find a lower wall to climb. Head right, past the spike pad, and jump onto the ledge to find another mask behind some crates you can smash.
Mask #34 – Now as Sly, proceed until you have to paraglide across the air jets and take out the switch guard. The mask is on a ledge off to the left side of the room.
Location. If you’ve collected all of the treasures on the level, you’ll find that the arcade machine at the hideout is fixed. Boot it up to play Spark Runner. Here’s what you have to do to get the mask; gather all the purple time boosters in the very starting area. Then bounce around on the bumpers until Bentley says, “Geez, it’s like a pinball machine in here!” Once he says that, a mask will appear next to the silver lining to the left of the starting area (immediately above the red hole in the floor).
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time – Of Mice and Mechs
Location. You’ll find this mask on the rotating tower just east of the circus area.
Location. This one is on the roof of the Tavern in the northern section of the village.
Location. In the northern part of the town is tall building you can only climb using Sir Galleth’s Catapult Crash technique. There is a mask on the rooftop of this building.
Location. Another tower you can only climb using the Catapult Crash is located in the southeast corner of the map (it’s climbed during the “Eye in the Sky” mission). About midway up, there’s a plank on the tower’s eastern side that holds a mask.
Location. There is a third tower that can only be scaled via Catapult Crash in the southernmost part of the map (you climb this during ‘Eye of the Sky’ as well). The mask is behind some crates on the top of the tower.
Location. After the first trio of trumpet frogs fire the next rope arrow. Now smash the red box on the platform to reveal a secret stash of arrows. Fire one of these at the platform across the gap to break the barrel and reveal a target; fire another to create a way over. Find a mask after crossing to this platform.
Location. Right after the set of four trumpet frogs you will find a rope. Climb past the first platform to find a second, higher platform where you will find a mask.
Location. Continue with the mission until you reach the tower inside the cave, and then turn right. Below, next to the lava is a small ledge you can drop to in order to find another mask.
Location. Proceed through the mission as Bentley until you reach the rafters in the blacksmith’s shop. Right after the first set of lasers in the first room, you will find a destructible wall to your left. There is a mask behind it so use your bombs on it.
Location. Continue the mission until you hack the second door. In the room beyond are some spinning gears. As you move across them you’ll see a conspicuously placed crate on top of an air duct sticking out of the wall. Use a bomb to destroy it and you will find a mask.
Location. If you’ve collected all of the treasures on the level, you’ll find that the arcade machine at the hideout is fixed. Boot it up to play Super Alter Ego. Near the start of the second zone is an optional portal on the lower half of the screen. Enter it to find the level’s mask at the end of this optional zone.
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time – Forty Thieves
Location. There is a tower on an island behind the Hideout. Use the Archer costume’s rope arrows to get there.
Location. You’ll find this one on top of the large green building north of the village. It’s the same building where you first tail Ms. Decibel.
Location. There is a mask on top of the huge bridge/arch structure in the center of the city. You can use the springy flagpoles on the side to get up there.
Location. Under a bridge in the northern part of the city you’ll find yet another mask. The magic carpet that patrols the level passes this spot.
Location. There is a mask on top of the massive tower in the northern part of the map – the one with the dissolving chain. Use either Salim’s Cobra Climb or the Thief costume’s Slow Time ability to get up here.
Location. Proceed to the palace at the north of the map. To the right of the palace bridge is a hole Sly can crawl through. This will take you to a secret area, the Lazy Trunk Spa and Lounge. To the left of the entrance is a bouncy cushion with a mask floating above it.
Location. While playing the mission, you will come across a room containing three guards. The mask is on a table on the far end. You can hop over the fence to grab the mask; this will alert the guards and send you back a checkpoint, but you’ll get to keep the mask.
Location. On this mission you will eventually pass through a boat that Murray raises from the water. Ride the debris to the bow of the ship to find a mask behind some breakable pots.
Heavy Metal Meltdown
Location. When you’re placing the bug in the northeastern part of the map, it is possible to climb to some high ledges to the room’s south side. You will find a mask here.
All Rolled Up!
Location. This one is found during the boss fight. After rail-walking along the first pink note streams, cut the first chain with the sword from the Thief Costume and make your way to the next platform. Next to the second chain there is a cloth you can climb down. Jump from there to the spire where the Mask is waiting.
Location. If you’ve collected all of the treasures on the level, you’ll find that the arcade machine at the hideout is fixed. Boot it up to play System Crack Extreme.
Play until the panzer section, and make your way to the third zone. There is a path that goes somewhere, but is blocked off by a wall that looks like the other walls. It can be broken with the purple Panzer code.
Return to Paris
Location. Continue until you have reached Riochi’s second room. Jump the gap to the southwestern part of the room to find a mask.
Location. You will find this in Tennessee’s first room. Circle around and climb the pole, then turn around to find the mask on a ledge in the corner.
Location. If you’ve collected all of the treasures on the level, you’ll find that the arcade machine at the hideout is fixed. Boot it up to play Maximum Chaos, which combines all the previous arcade games into one massive gauntlet.
Play until the end of the Spark Runner section. Before entering the portal, roll north to collect the game’s final mask.
