Nintendo Direct Broadcast: Here’s What Happened Today

Another of Nintendo’s streaming events just took place this morning that in turn provides with new information, specially for the 3DS. It was a bit surprising that there wasn’t any major Wii U related news.

Donkey Kong: Country Returns 3D Announced
This morning’s Nintendo Direct revealed that a new Donkey Kong game, Country Returns will be releasing for the 3DS this summer in North America and Europe. It’s a remake of the same titled game on the Wii released back in 2010.

President of Nintendo America said: “This version of the game is being rebuilt for Nintendo 3DS.”

Mario Golf 3D Announced
Accompanying the new Donkey Kong game on the 3DS this summer will be a new Mario Golf title called Mario Gold: World Tour. Information on the game is scarce and Iwata commented that that game will feature “familiar faces and game mechanics,” as well as traditional and new designs.

Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Announced for 3DS
Here’s a new addition to the Mario & Luigi RPG series. Mario & Luigi: Dream Team will be heading to the 3DS in summer, revealed president of Nintendo Satoru Iwata.

Mario will be invading Luigi’s dreams, where the greener brother will have super powers. As Mario players will solve puzzles and defeat enemies, all while Luigi snores.

Super Luigi U Announced
President Iwata did refer to 2013 as the “Year of Luigi” and we can see why. A new Super Luigi title is inbound for the Wii U later this year which is actually an add-on for the new Super Mario Bros. U. The game will convert all the game’s existing levels into all-new courses.

As the title suggests, the spotlight will only be on Luigi with no Mario in sight. I feel good for the guy.

Wii Street U Now Available in US and It’s Free
The Wii U Street app is now available for American consumers and it’s free of charge. As of this moment you can head over to the US eShop and download it.

Castlevania: Mirror of Fate Demo Dated
A playable demo for Castlevania Lords of Shadow: Mirror of Fate will be available on February 28th, while the final game will release on March 5.

Kersploosh! Announced for 3DS
Quite a fascinating name if I do say so myself. Nintendo Direct Broadcast today also announced Kersploosh! for the 3DS eShop, which looks a bit indie-like.

Object of the game is simple, you control a ball and help it across obstacles down a well in order to make an awesome splash. The game will release on March 7th.

Nintendo eShop Sale Detailed
Nintendo revealed a new sale on some of their tiles today during their broadcast. First up is the downloadable version of Bit.Trip Saga. Following that will be the below mentioned titles slated for a discounted price in the coming weeks.
