The Doctors, legends in games development, are to be honoured with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the upcoming Game Developers Choice Awards.

With the 13th annual GDC Awards coming up, there’re all sorts of rumours as to who deserves what this year. Well, as the title says, the BioWare Doctors (Dr. Ray Muzyka and Dr. Greg Zeschuk) are going to be receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award for their many critically acclaimed games that have helped to make up the backbone of the gaming industry.

Such titles as Baldur’s Gate, the entire Mass Effect series, the brilliant Knights of the Old Republic games are all part of the Doctors’ legacy.

BioWare and the Doctors are no strangers to receiving awards at the GDCAs. The first Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic title won many awards back at the 2004 GDCAs, taking the top title of Best Game that year.

The GDCAs will be held this year at the Moscone Convention Center in San Fransisco on March 27. The ceremony is open to all GDC attendees and is set to be hosted by the CEO of Double Fine Productions, Tim Schafer.
