It seems Square-Enix still has some marketing tricks up its sleeve. Murdered: Soul Suspect is a new game that was announced today through a teaser website, which you can find here, and it’s got fans digging through clues to figure out more.
The sleuths over at NeoGAF have managed to dig through the “murdered.com” website and found a few bits of information that may reveal more about a release date and what consoles we’ll see the new game for.
The basic site itself shows that the game will be released for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC. Heading to “murdered.com/evidence” and typing in “Ronan” brings up a photo with the following information:
O’Connor, male, mid- 30s, 170lbs, 5’ 11”
Detectives aren’t supposed to get bloody knuckles, but I’ve done a lot of things I wasn’t supposed to do. I lived through it all, the beat-downs, the back-stabbing, disrespect most people wouldn’t see in ten lifetimes and I never lost a fight… until now.
The great detectives then sifted through the metadata of the image and found that the picture was taken Feb. 25, 2014 in Southern Nevada. Could this be a hint at a release date? It’s quite unsual for a game to have such a specific release date more than a year away.
The plot; it thickens.
Combining some pictures leaked on Twitter reveals another bell symbol like the one on the front page of the website and some backtracking through the ownership of the site reveals that Eidos Interactive has their hands in this mystery pie as well.
Square-Enix did give us a statement about the game that only serves to tease us more, saying that Murdered is “an exciting new game from Square Enix which challenges players to solve possibly the hardest case of all.
As a wise man once said: The game is afoot!
