British studio Sumo Digital is allegedly working on LittleBigPlanet 3 for unknown platforms, says VG247.
According to the report, the game has been in development for “well over a year” now but Sony has refused to comment on the rumor.
If true then it’s unsure as to why Media Molecule isn’t on the team. VG247 says that it was a unanimous decision between Sony and Media Molecule to ask Sumo to make the third title.
Recently Sumo Digital were behind the cross controller pack for LittleBigPLanet 2, as well as Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed and Nike+ Kinect Training. It has also worked on the Virtua Tennis, F1 and OutRun series.
As speculations stand, Sony is prepared to unveil their next-gen PlayStation next week. Could the announcement of LittleBigPlanet 3 happen during that?
Creator of the series, Media Molecule is known to be working on new IPs, chances are that one of those is for the next-gen platforms as well.
