BlackBerry 10 is the next generation mobile OS developed by BlackBerry for their products. It is the heart of the new line of PlayBook Tablets. With a new update to the OS comes support for Unity Engine.
The collaboration was announced today by BlackBerry and Unity Technologies. Unity has decided to make an add-on option which will enable developers to publish applications for the BlackBerry. A selected few developers will be given free access to the beta version in Spring while the full version will be released later on in Summer this year. BlackBerry officials noted the popularity of Unity Engine and the string of successful titles it has created.
BlackBerry received more developer support from GameLoft who announced earlier this month their intentions of making some of their biggest mobile titles compatible with the new OS. Some of these titles include: UNO, N.O.V.A 3: Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance, Shark Dash, Oregon Trail American Settler, Ice Age Village, Real Soccer 2013, The Amazing Spider Man, Six Guns, Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour, The Dark Knight Rises and Let’s Golf 3.
