Publisher 505 Games has announced that Sniper Elite V2 is going to be released for Nintendo’s new console, the Wii U, this spring.
Developer Rebellion has promised the Wii U version to incorporate a new controls scheme and a “level of interactivity only possible with the Wii U GamePad touch screen”. Additionally the GamePad’s functionality will allegedly provide a “greater tactical depth and flexibility” to the game.
Some of the confirmed features will allow players to tag enemies and traps using the GamePad, as well as track enemy locations, and monitor the blast radius of planted explosives.
“Sniper Elite is just the kind of mature game that is perfect for the different mechanics of the Wii U. It’s been a challenge to get it right, but thanks to our team and the fantastic support of our partners at 505 Games we believe we’ve brought the unique gameplay to a whole new platform,” said Rebellion’s CEO Jason Kingsley.
There is currently no specific release date, apart from the Spring window.
