Nintendo Responds to Fire Emblem: Awakening Delays

While you can download the digital version of Fire Emblem: Awakening from Nintendo’s eShop, the physical copy on the other hand will take more time in hitting shelves.

Amazon has updated the game’s status with “potential shipping delay,” while GameStop and Best Buy both have marked it as “currently unavailable”. GameInformer reports that Best Buy are expecting copies in a day, while GameStop clients will have to wait until February 8th to pick their copy of Fire Emblem: Awakening.

In response to these delays a Nintendo spokesperson gave the following statement:

Nintendo makes every effort to make sure its games and systems are available at retail stores nationwide on launch day. Sometimes, because of the variables of shipping, different retailers receive their shipments on different days. Fire Emblem: Awakening can be purchased right now from the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS.

Fire Emblem: Awakening was released back in April of last year in Japan. The role-playing game by Intelligent Systems was released today for the 3DS in North America.
