This year, EA Sports is doing something a bit different with it’s Madden franchise to commemorate it’s 25th anniversary. They’re ditching the usual calendar year in the name and going with the anniversary year instead. There’s been some rumors to this effect going around lately and with today’s press release those rumors were confirmed.
Madden 25 will launch on August 27th and fans will once again be able to vote on the cover athlete starting early next month, according to the press release. Unfortunately for fans, the name and the voting are the only details EA is putting forth at the moment and is refusing to release any sort of information about the game itself, but I’m sure we’ll see more this Spring when we get closer to release.
Any Madden players from the year 2025, and the confusion they may be experiencing, were unable to be reached for comment.
The Madden franchise has sold through approximately 99 million units and generated more than $3.7 billion in net revenue since its inception and I think it’s a lock that this year will be even bigger.
So what do you guys think of the name? Confusing or perfect for the big anniversary?
